BlackRock IBIT inflows amid market reshuffle

BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust recorded $665.16 million in net inflows on October 19, 2026, even as eleven of the twelve US spot Bitcoin ETFs saw net losses. This concentration of capital highlights a shift between providers rather than new market entry amid Bitcoin's price volatility.

BlackRock IBIT inflows amid market reshuffle

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) recorded $665.16 million in net inflows on Monday, October 19, 2026. This figure is the largest single-day inflow for the fund since October 7, 2025. IBIT assets total $66.37 billion. While this money entered IBIT, the net gain for all twelve US spot Bitcoin ETFs was only $526.6 million that day. Fidelity’s FBTC lost $83.63 million and Grayscale’s GBTC lost $54.93 million. The divergence between the single large inflow into BlackRock’s fund and the significant outflows from its competitors indicates that capital is moving between different providers rather than entering the market as new money. Bitcoin price sat at $81,421 on Tuesday morning, which is 1.61 percent lower than the previous 24 hours. The market absorbed the $665 million demand without pushing price above the $82,000 to $83,000 range. Total assets across all Bitcoin ETFs total $105.46 billion, which is 6.4 percent of Bitcoin’s market capitalization. Since they launched in January 2024, these ETFs accumulated $57.4 billion in cumulative net inflows.

The Monday inflow covers only 40 percent of the $910 million lost across the two weeks before the turn. Investors pulled $681 million out during the week of October 5 to October 9, then another $229 million during the week of October 12 to October 16. A single day of buying is not a turning point if the weekly total remains negative. Dominick John of Zeus Research says the BlackRock inflows signal robust institutional demand despite Bitcoin’s volatile price action. The concentration of capital in a single fund makes the total market inflow figure misleading because eleven of the twelve funds lost money. Bitcoin price faces a supply wall between $84,000 and $85,000 where long-term holders have dense concentrations of positions. Does the market demand stay concentrated in BlackRock’s products as other providers see persistent redemptions? Ether ETFs lost $103.3 million on October 19, which was their fourth straight negative day. US spot Ether ETFs lost $320 million the prior week, extending a three-week streak of net outflows. The Monday inflow is not a market turn.

Fee structures drive the movement of institutional money. Grayscale’s GBTC charges 1.50 percent per year, whereas IBIT charges 0.25 percent. Fidelity’s FBTC had a 0 percent fee until July 31, 2024. WisdomTree’s BTCW has a 0.30 percent expense ratio, though the firm waived this fee for the first $1.0 billion in assets for a six-month period starting January 11, 2024. The monthly balance for US spot Bitcoin ETFs tipped slightly negative for October, as the month-to-date net outflow hit $65.1 million through October 19. On Monday, Grayscale’s Bitcoin Mini Trust added $10.32 million, while Bitwise’s BITB saw $10.29 million flow out. Year-to-date, US spot Bitcoin ETFs saw net inflows of $865.3 million for 2026. If you track these funds, look at the weekly totals rather than the daily surge. Will the Federal Reserve’s decision on October 28 break the current price range?

iShares Bitcoin Trust IBIT 0.25%
Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund FBTC 0.25%
