Navigating Mantle mETH and Blast Yield

Mantle liquid staking via mETH offers rewards from Ethereum consensus and MEV, while Blast provides 3% ETH yield through Lido. Manta Network also incentivizes bridging from Blast to Manta Pacific with a 50,000 MANTA reward pool.

Navigating Mantle mETH and Blast Yield

Mantle staking and Bybit fees

Mantle disabled all new cmETH minting on 7 May 2026. You only stake for mETH now. mETH provides staking rewards while staying liquid. Existing cmETH holders can still unstake and bridge their position. I find the cmETH shutdown a logical move to focus on core liquid staking. mETH is a reward-bearing token, so your wallet balance stays constant while the amount of ETH each mETH can claim rises. Rewards come from Ethereum consensus payments and from execution-layer tips and MEV captured by validators. If you use Bybit, you get a 25% discount on spot transaction fees by using Mantle (MNT) to pay. Bybit also provides a 10% discount on futures transactions if you pay with MNT. For Non-VIP accounts, Bybit’s spot fees follow a maker-taker model with a flat 0.1% fee for both. You can reach VIP status through your 30-day trading volume or your asset balance. Do you really think the MNT discount covers the gas cost of an ERC-20 deposit? Bybit’s P2P USD deposits charge 0 fees, but you pay the spread between the market rate and the merchant’s asking price. This spread typically runs between 0.5% and 2%. For credit card deposits, third-party providers like MoonPay or Banxa charge 2% to 4%. Bybit also geo-blocks US residents, so you should use Coinbase or Kraken if you live there. Completing KYC Lv1 takes roughly 15 minutes and unlocks P2P and card purchases. If you are already familiar with maker-taker models, you will easily recognize the Bybit fee structure.

Comparing Blast yield to Mantle

Blast routes ETH into Lido and stablecoins into MakerDAO to provide native yield. This generates 3% on ETH and 1.3% on stablecoins. I would skip Blast if you want a fixed-balance L2 because its rebasing model causes accounting friction. Blast uses a single sequencer and a three-of-five multisig for contract upgrades. This centralization creates risk for users. The total value locked on Blast sat at about $31 million on September 15, 2026, far below the 2024 levels. The yield comes from Lido and MakerDAO, not from Blast itself. The Blast Foundation bylaws let tokenholders swap the staking provider or the USDB backing. This means the yield source is a governance variable. I find the reliance on external protocols like Lido a significant vulnerability for anyone seeking stability. The team behind Blast is the same group that built the Blur NFT marketplace. In 2023, the project drew criticism for taking deposits months before any code went live. The contract took in roughly $488 million in its first five days. Many users complained that the airdrop allocations skewed smaller than they expected. Arbitrum has no native yield, as bridged ETH sits idle in the bridge contract. You find yield on Arbitrum through apps like Aave or GMX.

Manta Pacific developer incentives

Manta Network launched a campaign to incentivize bridging from Blast to Manta Pacific. Users who move 0.1 ETH or 100 USD worth of stablecoins from Blast to Manta participate in a 50,000 MANTA reward pool. You use rawr.trade or free.tech to bridge and receive BETH. If you transfer a minimum of 0.1 ETH or 100 USD worth of stablecoins from Blast to Manta using the rawr.trade or free.tech bridges, you will successfully join the 50,000 MANTA reward pool to receive BETH. The campaign runs from March 6th to March 20th. You also earn RAWR airdrops and Manta rewards. Users transfer BETH to iZiswap on Manta to unlock its potential. Users can also swap BETH for ETH on iZiswap. Manta Pacific hosts over 230 ecosystem applications for developers and users. For stablecoin users, you can swap your USDB to iUSD on rawr.trade on Blast. This starts your journey on Manta. You then bridge the iUSD from Blast to Manta via the Free Bridge. You can also swap your iUSD to USDC or other preferred assets on iZiswap.
