Jito’s MEV capture and validator presence

Jito maintains $402 million in TVL and runs the Jito-Solana validator client on 40% of the Solana stake across 230 validators. This client mitigates MEV-related issues like spam trades and failed transactions. The JTO governance token allows members to set fees, update delegation strategies, and manage the DAO treasury. JTO has a total supply of 1 billion tokens with an initial circulating supply of 115 million and a float of 582.8 million. A retrospective airdrop of 10% of the total supply targets early contributors, with 90 million JTO for immediate distribution and 10 million unlocking over the next year. The Jito Foundation allocates 80% of this airdrop to JitoSOL points holders with 100 points or more, a group that includes 9,852 unique addresses identified before the November 25, 2023, cutoff. Core contributors and employees receive 245 million JTO, which vests and unlocks over 3 years after a 1-year cliff.

Sanctum supply burns and Marinade mSOL mechanics

Sanctum reduces its $SANC supply by 25% through a 259 million token burn on October 9, which brings the total supply from 1 billion to 741 million tokens. This month also includes 10.8 million $SANC for linear vesting. Marinade’s mSOL remains a major product with 1.7 million tokens in circulation as of August 31, 2026. As of that same date, mSOL had approximately 60,609 holders and a market cap of approximately $240 million, reflecting a supply that remains essentially flat to slightly net-redeeming. Marinade’s mSOL design functions as a deterministic accounting instrument where price equals total staked value divided by minted pool shares.

Parameter mSOL Detail
Circulating Supply ~1.7 million tokens
Market Cap ~$240 million
Decimals 9
Delayed Unstake Fee 0.2%

Marinade adds MEV rewards to the price each epoch once the protocol claims and restakes them. Marinade protects users via Protected Staking Rewards, which uses an on-chain bond mechanism to cover losses when validator uptime falls between 50% and 99%. There is a 1% grace period for downtime and a 1 percentage point grace period for commission increases. However, a documentation mismatch exists because an older multisig-governance page describes a 6% rewards-fee with a 10% cap in code, while the protocol FAQ does not list a current reward skim for mSOL. Users can claim MNDE active staking rewards through April 1, 2027, if they staked on the governance page and voted at least once in the past 12 months. mSOL is minted and burned 1:1 against staked SOL, which means the supply expands when users stake and contracts when they unstake. mSOL holders use the token as collateral in Kamino, Orca, and Raydium to access liquidity.

Governance control and liquidity risks

Marinade’s program uses a 13-party community multisig that requires six signers to change the liquid-staking-program. MNDE holders participate in the Marinade DAO by locking tokens on the Realms platform. You already know how liquid staking works, so focus on how price divergence affects your exit. MNDE has a total supply of 1 billion tokens and holders experience a 30-day unlocking period. MNDE holders can also influence delegation strategies and treasury management. The primary risk for mSOL holders involves the gap between the protocol "true price" and market prices on DEXs when liquidity pools become unbalanced. Instant exits use Jupiter-routed swaps, so execution depends on route liquidity and price impact. This creates a situation where leveraged holders or lending markets face high slippage during sudden sell pressure. Will the widening spread between Marinade’s "true price" and DEX prices force more liquidators to use delayed exits?
